Cleaning the interior of a truck
A clean truck cab creates a pleasant working environment and a professional image. Drivers spend a lot of time in the cab every day, so dust, sand, food crumbs and other dirt can build up quickly. Cleaning the interior of a truck regularly keeps the workspace hygienic and limits unnecessary wear on upholstery and plastic parts.
Regular maintenance is also very practical for transport companies. A well-kept truck cab looks tidy and stops dirt from building up to the point where an intensive deep clean becomes necessary. Below, we give you a clear step-by-step plan for cleaning a truck interior.

Step 1: remove loose items from the cab
Start by emptying the cab. Remove personal belongings, rubbish, documents and loose accessories. Empty the storage compartments too, so that every surface is easy to reach. Creating space first makes the rest of the cleaning more efficient.

Step 2: vacuum the entire interior
Use a powerful vacuum cleaner to remove dirt and dust from every part of the cab. Pay extra attention to hard-to-reach areas, such as under the seats, between the seat rails and in the corners of the cab. Don’t forget the floor mats and any sleeping area.
Check the following areas, among others:
- floors and floor mats;
- seats and upholstery seams;
- storage compartments and door pockets;
- the space under the seats;
- sleeping area and mattresses;
- ventilation grilles.
Removing all the loose dirt first stops it from being spread over other surfaces during cleaning.

Step 3: clean the plastic parts
Once the cab has been vacuumed, you can clean the dashboard, steering wheel, centre console, door panels and other plastic parts. Use suitable cleaning products that remove dirt without damaging the materials. Pay extra attention to frequently touched parts such as switches, door handles and the steering wheel. The inside of the doors, cup holders and storage compartments can be done during this step as well.
Step 4: treat the upholstery and mattresses
When seats, mats or mattresses are visibly dirty, a deep clean is often the best solution. Stubborn stains and ingrained dirt call for a more intensive treatment than a regular clean.
In cases of heavy soiling or long-neglected maintenance, professional cleaning can help. This way, the upholstery and interior are cleaned thoroughly without unnecessary wear.
Step 5: neutralise stubborn odours in the cab
Do unpleasant odours linger in the cab after cleaning? We can then use an ozone treatment to neutralise stubborn odours, such as smoke or food smells. It is a valuable addition to a thorough interior clean.
Steam cleaning
For a truly clean cab, steam is the only answer. Our specialist high-pressure technique reaches every corner and cleans deeper than a hand ever could. The result? A healthy workplace, maximum hygiene and less downtime for your vehicles.
